Remarks: Many dead and many sheltering in tree base cavities and on branches on an area of grassland burnt 6 days previously. This was the 16th fire of the season meaning the birds were located in the middle of a near contiguous burnt area extending > 4500km2. Maximum daily temperature rising consistently each day for previous 7 days from 37.3o C on 17th March to 46.1o C on 23rd March.
